 Mission Assurance is a methodical technique for analyzing all safety aspects of products, projects and processes.

Misson Assurance looks at entire systems using the rigorous tools of science and engineering. A Mission Assurance evaluation includes analysis of all elements of the system;

• Its goals
• The attributes, skills and limitations of the users
• The ways in which it is actually implemented
• The environment in which it is used/maintained 
• External forces acting on it
